History of CJSF

Founded in 1967, CJSF fosters high standards of scholarship, service and citizenship in the middle school grades. Like CSF, CJSF emphasizes service to the school and the community while fostering pride in scholastic achievement. In recent years the rapid growth of the California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF) has greatly strengthened CSF.

CJSF Requirements

CJSF Membership is based on scholarship and is gained after qualifying grades are earned each semester. In order to become a member, the student must submit an application each semester the student is eligible. A point system specified in the CJSF State By-Laws establishes the membership requirements. Student must attend Bernal Intermediate in San Jose, CA. Student must get a 3.6 GPA or higher. Student can not have a D or F on their report card.

CJSF Points: Each member is expected to perform school/community services. To qualify for the year-end activity, each full-year member needs to accumulate 200 service points by the end of May. Each member qualifying for only one semester will be required to accumulate 100 service points. If you do not meet the 100 points by the end of the semester, you will not qualify to apply again to CJSF.

Service points on campus can be earned in these possible ways:
